So I have been talking to a few of my friends over in eastern Idaho that have been ice fishing Henry's Lake. The fishing is good. They are finding fish in 3' - 10' of water. Fish paddlebugs in pink and white. They are catching Brookies and Cutties for the most part, with catch rates of around three fish an hour. So if your not scared of the cold and tired of being inside Henry's would be a good spot to dredge a hole in the ice and kick back with a warm or cold drink in your hand. Tight Lines!!
Word on the street from our buddy Logan Martindale says it's on fire on the south end the lake. Bite times have been early in the morning and late in the evening. Pink, white and green paddle bugs have been slaying also picking fish up on kastmasters pretty much anything with gold on them. Oh and put meal worms on everything. Try to keep your bait or jigs just a couple inches off the bottom. He also said they are hooking alot of fish between the 3 and 5 lb. Range well good luck out there and try to stay warm. Good luck
Fishing is still good throughout the lake. Fish are in the shallows so fishing from shore will work if you don't have a boat. A leech pattern on an intermediate line will do the trick.
This is a great time of year to fish Henrys lake. Fishing is good throughout the lake so the crowds will be spread out a little more as well. Your basic leach patterns trailing a scud or other small fly works well. The weather is getting cooler and by early next week the temps will be dropping into the low 20's and high teens. This will make fishing even better. Fish will be in the shallower water so fishing from shore will be a good option. This time of year it can get really cold up there so make sure you dress for it so you can stay on the water.
Henry's is starting to fish well, Use black leech patterns trailing a bead head or a scud and hold on!
The Lake has been fishing good throughout the day with the cooler weather. Try the usual spots.
It's slow but your best bet is going to be at Targhee creek but expect company.
Fishing is best around creek mouths and springs. Use leach patterns and any buggy looking lake patterns in size 10 or 12.
The damselflys are moving back into the shallows and the fish will be right behind them. Stop in and check out our selection of henrys lake flies.
Henry's Lake: Fishing has been slower but some fish are still being caught Try a leach pattern with trailing scud or other small nymph.
