Warm River is in Eastern Idaho near Ashton.
Got to warm river at 1:30 it was good right off the bat. My set up was a wholly bugger with a lightning bug and a midge caught fish on all of them. Nothing big today just your 12 to 15 inchers my buddy threw streamers and came up with nothing. I saw a few splashy rises but might have been nice fish for that river can be deceiving some times but still to lazy to tie up a dry fly rig the midge where out in force. If your into catching a lot of 12 to 15 inchers warm river is the place to go. Good luck out there
Fishing is good in the Warm River and the The HF. Slow strip and swing #6 black wooly buggers, rubber legs, and eggs if you're into that. Fish are hungry from 11:00a.m. until 3p.m. Get out and fish!
Fished the warm river yesterday just at a few wade in spots. I nymphed the whole time used a black woolybugger and size 18 to 20 midge caught alot of white fish and a few small rainbows actually just one small rainbow. But the day was cold and I did not work very hard for it because of the wind so I will probably give it a go here in a couple of days. Will keep you guys updated as of now I would say just go to Chester or vernon bridge. Good luck out there
The warm river is running a little high due to all the recent rain but is continuing to fish great. Look for fish to be holding in their regular spots (riffles and pocket water) and don't be afraid to throw a salmon fly at the bank. Probably your best option for getting into some fish right now.
The warm river continues to fish great and is the best option during the spring runoff. The water is running a little high but clarity is pretty decent. A few salmon flies are starting to come off and the fish are really keying in on rubber legs type patterns. Dropping a hares ear off of a stonefly pattern will increase your chances of hooking into some fish.
Still fishing good with nymphs below, caddis on top. Water slightly off-color, but fishing along banks of slower water and riffles is productive. More salmon flies spotted.
The Warm River is continuing to fish well with some fish up on caddis. Continue throwing nymphs if nothing is happening up top and you should be able to catch plenty of fish. Also, a salmonfly was seen on one of the bridges yesterday, so the hatch should be just around the corner!
Despite the rising flows on most of our other rivers, the warm river has been fishing great. With the warmer weather, fish have moved into their normal holding spots so look for riffles and flats. A rubber legs dropped with a hare's ear hs been working great. Even though they usually aren't huge, there are plenty of fish to be caught.
Fish have been up on caddis. If you can't find any fish rising, nymph with a rubber legs or one of your standard nymphs (hare's ear, pheasant tail, prince nymph) and drop a midge off of it. Probably your best bet for catching fish right now with all the other rivers running so high.
Use hoppers, caddis, and attractor patterns. Stop and feed the fish at the fish observation area on your way. It's a real hit with the kids.
